The first Najad 415p is launched
In this brief interview, Jarl, new owner of the yard’s first Najad 415p, sounds pleasingly contented:
Why did you choose a Najad 415p?
She’s a useful combination of cruising and racing boat. Good, sound quality and just the right size for me. Plus that the yard and the Najad people are really on the ball.
What do you think of the process entailed from order to almost complete yacht?
Excellent. An interesting interactive process between myself as customer and the yard, that has worked very well.
Have Najad understood your requirements and is the boat exactly as you wanted it?
Do you prefer to sail shorthanded or with a full crew?
Shorthanded is by far the most fun, but we race quite a bit with full crew.
Going by her equipment, the boat will be used for ocean racing. What kind of plans have you made?
A mix of racing and cruising. We shall sail the Nordseewoche from Helgoland to Edinburgh and then cruise in Scotland and Ireland and over to the Azores. We have plans for the AC too, although probably not until 2016.
What other boats have you owned?
A Grand Soleil 37.
Has she been christened?
